Skills Assessment:
You will need to have your qualifications and work experience assessed by the relevant Australian assessing authority for your profession.
Popular assessing bodies include:
VETASSESS (for general professionals)
ACS (for IT professionals)
Engineers Australia (for engineering professionals)
TRA (for trade occupations)
Each body has its own criteria for assessing qualifications and work experience, so getting this right is essential.
English Language Proficiency:
You will need to demonstrate competent English language skills through tests like IELTS or PTE. Higher scores not only help meet visa requirements but also earn additional points. Some occupations and visa subclasses may have specific score thresholds.
Points Test:
For most skilled visas, Australia uses a points-based system. Points are awarded based on:

A minimum of 65 points is required to be eligible to apply for an Expression of Interest (EOI), but higher scores increase your chances of receiving an invitation.
