CANADA PLANS TO REOPEN ITS BORDERS FROM 7 SEPTEMBER 2021
The Government of Canada plans to reopen its borders to all fully vaccinated travellers from 7th September 2021. Canada will implement this plan only if the COVID-19 situation is favourable at that time.
They should have completed the vaccination which is approved by the Canadian Government at least a fortnight before entering the country and meet other entry requirements of Canada. Canada has approved four vaccines at this stage, which are Janssen (Johnson & Johnson), Moderna, AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD and Pfizer-BioNTech.
As an initial step of reopening the borders, the Canadian government plans to allow entry for the fully vaccinated American citizens and permanent residents from 9th August 2021. Travellers should report their travel details through ArriveCAN (either app or web version). Fully vaccinated travellers will not be required to quarantine upon arrival in Canada if they are eligible to enter and meet particular criteria.
Canada has already banned flights from India until 21st August 2021. TheTransport Canada and the Canada Border Services Agency are trying to put in place the essential safeguards as quickly as possible to safely welcome international travellers after August 9 to around 10 airports in Canada.
